I love dirt!! As a kid I remember loving to play in the dirt and when it rained mother would let us play in the mud and make mud pies. Such fun! That passion has never left me. We raised a garden growing up. My 2 sisters and I had to go out and harvest the garden, bring in all the fresh vegies and processing everything. I recall setting for hours snapping green beans, digging the new potatoes then having all of that for supper. Then the canning....oh the canning. Another passion mother had was flowers, she always had beautiful flower bed. That passion was handed down to me. I love flowers!
So here we are October 1st, the weather is beautiful with a gentle breeze and my outside urns are screaming "FRESHEN ME UP!" So that is what I did on this beautiful Sunday evening. As you can see, they are needing a new look for fall.
The asparagus fern still looked pretty good so I split it up and left in the 2 large urns. It is hard to see but there are 3 urns. I left the caladium in the urn by itself because it still looked pretty good. Just cleaned it up a bit and made her look pretty.
Hello!! I am a simple person with a passion for flowers and home décor. I am crazy about my God, family and business. I am not fancy with my words or in person. I say it like it is and love to share my passion. I love to talk about the things I am passionate about. My husband of 36+ years is my ROCK!!! His passions are tractors, old engines and lathes. He goes to the tractor shows which gives me a chance to go antiquing and visiting green houses, so it works out very nicely. I LOVE to learn all I can about flowers and gardening. Now you wouldn't think that were the case if you came to my house because I don't have a large garden, but that is my plan when I retire at 60 (7 years away, happy dance happy dance). My plan is to play in the dirt, when we are not traveling. So little by little I am working to make my back yard my "Ootsie Oasis" for when I retire. I hope you enjoy playing with flowers and playing in the dirt with me, because that's what I love to do. I may not know all there is to know about flowers and dirt, but I love researching and figuring it all out. Hey it's dirt, what could possibly go wrong? RIGHT? As I always say. "BLOOM WHERE YOU ARE PLANTED BECAUSE I BELIEVE IN YOU!!"
